Innovation award for Nandiki Roja Ramani coincides with growing interest in recycled plastic construction products
Nandiki Roja Ramani receives the innovation award while Dr. Nandiki Gangadhar Reddy joins the programme through teleconference from Bauma India 2026.
Bhubaneswar/Greater Noida, September 21, 2026: The connection between advanced construction machinery, recycling technology and new product development was highlighted at the Kanak News MSME Summit 2026 when Dr. Nandiki Gangadhar Reddy, Founder and Chairman of Dongyue Group, joined the programme through teleconference from Bauma India 2026 in Greater Noida.
At the Bhubaneswar event, Nandiki Roja Ramani, Head – New Products Development at Dongyue Engineering & Fabricators, received the “Excellence in New Product Development & Innovation” award on behalf of the Group. The award was presented by Shri Sampad Chandra Swain, Hon’ble Minister of State (I/C), Industries, Skill Development & Technical Education, Government of Odisha, who was the Chief Guest.
The timing of the recognition was significant for Dongyue because the company is currently drawing attention to a new technology pathway for difficult plastic waste. The technology focuses on converting selected single-use plastics and low-value plastic waste into useful construction products such as recycled plastic bricks, blocks and plastic paver blocks.
Speaking from Bauma India 2026, Dr. Reddy said the Dongyue team was encountering growing interest in this new technology while engaging with the construction and machinery industry. He linked that interest to the need for practical recycling, reuse and regeneration solutions, especially in growing urban markets.
Dongyue’s proposition is based on its broader experience in industrial waste utilisation. Over the years, the Group has developed engineering and manufacturing solutions aimed at turning industrial waste streams into commercially useful products. The plastic initiative applies the same underlying philosophy to a waste stream that can be difficult to manage because of mixed materials, contamination and limited value in some conventional recycling routes.
Dr. Reddy specifically referred to increasing expectations from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. As these cities expand, plastic consumption and waste-generation patterns can create pressure on local waste-management systems. A decentralised or regional manufacturing approach could potentially create additional end-use routes for suitable plastic waste, provided feedstock preparation, product quality, safety, standards and economics are properly established.
Nandiki Roja Ramani, while accepting the award, described Dongyue as an engineering and manufacturing company focused on innovative machinery and solutions. She said the Group’s product-development journey is about combining technology with practical, sustainable solutions and described the plastic-waste initiative as an attempt to create a circular pathway in which waste becomes a raw material and resource.
The award citation recognised the Group’s focus on advanced manufacturing, innovation and new-generation products and specifically acknowledged Roja Ramani’s contribution to new product development and innovation. Her role places her at the centre of Dongyue’s effort to identify, develop and take new technology concepts toward practical products.
The parallel presence at Bauma India 2026 and the Kanak News MSME Summit 2026 also reflects the two sides of the company’s current activity: construction-industry engagement and new-product innovation. The plastic-waste technology sits at the intersection of these two areas, connecting waste management with construction-material manufacturing.
Dongyue’s stated motto for the initiative captures the intended direction in four words: “Your pollution, our solution.” The company now plans to continue technology development, demonstrations and pilot-oriented discussions around recycled plastic building products and plastic paver blocks.
