SAHAARA Hotline: Aanya Patni Introduces India’s First Composite Women’s Helpline with Sudhamta Foundation India.

In a significant step towards redefining women’s safety and support systems in India, SAHAARA – by Aanya Patni, a pioneering women’s grievance and trauma response hotline, has been officially launched in association with Sudhamta Foundation India, the execution and implementation partner for the initiative.

Designed as India’s first composite women’s safety hotline, SAHAARA addresses a critical gap in the current ecosystem—where women in distress often struggle to navigate fragmented systems for mental health support, legal aid, emergency response, and institutional assistance. SAHAARA brings these elements together under one unified, 24/7 access point, ensuring that women receive immediate, empathetic, and coordinated support in moments of crisis.

The initiative responds to the growing need for holistic safety solutions, recognizing that women’s distress is rarely isolated to a single issue. From panic attacks and emotional trauma to workplace harassment, unsafe public situations, or bullying, SAHAARA is built to respond with a care-first, trauma-informed approach that prioritizes dignity, confidentiality, and timely intervention.

Executed by Sudhamta Foundation India, an organization known for its work in women empowerment, mental health, and social welfare, SAHAARA is backed by a framework that integrates trained responders, institutional networks, and future-ready technological support, including AI-assisted systems and anonymised data insights to strengthen preventive measures. It also gives a complete guidance on nearest Police Station, Government hospital and private nursing homes and a team of 120 lawyers working already with Sudhamta Foundation ready to help the victim in all ways possible.

What sets SAHAARA apart is its vision to shift the paradigm of women’s safety—from reactive protection to proactive care. It is not merely a helpline, but a comprehensive support ecosystem that bridges the gap between emotional well-being and physical safety, offering women a single, reliable lifeline in times of distress.

Speaking on the launch, Aanya Patni, Founder of SAHAARA and student of RP Goenka School, said:

“SAHAARA was born from a simple but urgent realization—that in moments of distress, a woman should not have to search for help. She should have one place to turn to, where she is heard, supported, and guided immediately. This is not just a hotline, it is a commitment to ensure that no woman feels alone in her most vulnerable moments.”

Echoing this vision, Arumita Mitra, Founder & Managing Trustee of Sudhamta Foundation India, added:

“For far too long, women’s safety has been addressed in silos. SAHAARA represents a transformative shift—where safety is reimagined as care, and support systems are integrated, compassionate, and accessible. Through this initiative, we aim to build not just response mechanisms, but trust, dignity, and lasting impact.”

Adding her perspective, Devanshi Chitlangia, Founder of World Viral Edu, shared:

“As someone who works closely with students navigating life-changing decisions and global environments, I see firsthand how emotional safety and guidance are as critical as physical safety. SAHAARA is a much-needed initiative that acknowledges this reality. It creates a support system where young women, especially students, can seek help without fear or confusion. This is not just a service—it is a reassurance that someone is always there to listen and guide.”

As India continues to grapple with rising concerns around women’s safety and mental health, SAHAARA emerges as a timely and necessary intervention—one that aligns with the evolving needs of modern society and the urgency of creating responsive, inclusive, and humane support systems.

The launch of SAHAARA marks the beginning of a larger movement—one that calls upon institutions, corporates, policymakers, and communities to collaborate in building a future where women’s safety is not an afterthought, but a guaranteed right supported by systems that truly care.
