BREAKING SOLAR BARRIER FOR BPL: UNAccc and Surat Exim to Promote PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana in Villages and Tribal Communities

In a significant move towards sustainable development, UNAccc and Surat Exim Pvt Ltd have announced a landmark collaboration to provide affordable solar energy solutions to lower-income groups (BPL) across India. The partnership aims to make clean energy accessible to those who need it most, reducing their electricity bills to ZERO.

As a supporting partner, Surat Exim Pvt Ltd will handle the supply, installation, and after-sales services of UNAccc’s affordable solar energy homes, ranging from 1 kW to 2 kW, incorporating solar and nano wind technology. This initiative will be operated under CSR funding, with UNAccc managing Operations Management.

The collaboration is expected to bring about a significant impact on the lives of BPL families, enabling them to enjoy the benefits of clean and sustainable energy. The UNAccc Solar Energy Home promises not only Net Zero Electricity Bills but also Net Zero LPG and Net Zero Fuel, shifting the BPL families to EV and providing them EV Charging Stations under the same program.

Speaking on the collaboration, CMD of Surat Exim Pvt Ltd, Surendra Verma, expressed his enthusiasm, “We’re proud to partner with UNAccc to bring affordable solar energy to BPL families. Our trust with Dr. Rajat Sharma, Founder of UNAccc, since 2007 has grown stronger over 20 years, and we’re committed to making a difference under his leadership.”

Abhijit Kemkar, Managing Director of UNAccc, who was present at the meeting, said, “It’s a big moment for UNAccc’s Sustainable Living Program and Solar Housing Mission under Dr. Rajat Sharma’s leadership. We’re excited to work with Surat Exim Pvt Ltd to make sustainable energy a reality for BPL families.”

This initiative promotes ‘PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana’ at a very affordable price of ₹79,000/- (approx. 900 Euro) for 2-room kitchen lighting, paving the way for a greener tomorrow for low-income groups. With this collaboration, UNAccc and Surat Based Leading Energy  Co. aim to make a significant contribution to India’s sustainable development goals and empower 100,000 BPL families to shift to sustainable living.
